Dear Auburn Meditation Group,

We are sorry to let you know that the Thursday night, 6:00 pm Auburn Group will have its last meeting on Thursday Night, December 28, 2023. This last meeting will be in person at the Sierra Foothills Unitarian Church with a Zoom option, so if you are able please plan to join us.  We will not continue to meet weekly starting in 2024. This email is to suggest some resources that you may wish to take advantage of, groups and events that may be helpful the way our sitting group has been helpful to us all for 30 years now! As the Dharma teaches us, all things must pass. Despite its impermanence, we can all feel very good about our long run and how wonderful the group has been for so long. Here are some resources that may be helpful:

The Rocklin Group meets on Mondays via Zoom with a once-a-month in person gathering and welcome all Auburn Group members. Mary Helen and Maeve are regular teachers at this group as well as others. For information check out the Rocklin Sitting Group page.

Of course Mountain Stream's Zion Street Temple has many offerings and sittings. You can sign up for their weekly program schedule newsletter that is emailed out every Monday here: Contact — Mountain Stream Meditation (mtstream.org)  This email lists everything that is going on: sittings, classes, retreats, etc.

Maeve and Mary Helen will continue to offer programs in Auburn. We hope to hold daylongs at the Mercy Center, and to host monthly or short term groups such as a Kalyanamitta group or others. If you have suggestions for focus groups in terms of topics whether they be specific Buddhist teachings or relevant current issues explored through the lens of Dharma teachings, or other ways to work with the Dharma, please let us know and we can work with you on this. We would appreciate any feedback on how to support the Buddhist community in our Auburn area as we transition out of this phase of our Sangha. 

We will miss meeting with all of you each Thursday, but we hope to see you at some of these other events.
