Mountain Stream Meditation/Nevada City Insight Center is located at 710 Zion Street in Nevada City. This solid 1949 brick building sits on an acre of land where tall ponderosa pines, tall incense cedars, firs and English laurel enclose it, creating a private a peaceful setting.

Barely a mile from downtown Nevada City, the Center is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is walking distance to two local grocery stores, lodging, and a bus stop.

Our Center welcomes Insight teachings, teachers and various sitting groups. There is also an extensive library with approximately 800 books on spiritual practices. Fondly named a Village Temple, the Center offers a variety of interactive experiences including: both in-person & virtual evening sits with Dharma talks; daylong and householder retreats, insight mindfulness courses and study groups, are some of the ongoing activities that occur.

When the Nevada City Insight Center was remodeled from a family home, there were a number of local contractors and other building professionals who generously offered their time and services. A local landscape architect, Rebecca Coffman, created a master plan for the property. Tim Brady Consulting (contractor) and Dennis Kutch, an architect, assisted with interior structural changes, including the two ADA bathrooms, enlarging the meditation space and other important renovations. Charlie Faber, excavation and construction, created the beautiful new driveway and a level backyard. Thank you to all who offered their talents and resources to complete this beautiful project.
