Daylong in Auburn, Maeve Hassett & Mary Helen Fein

Maeve Hassett and Mary Helen Fein will lead a daylong at the Mercy Center in Auburn. Our theme will be integrating the Noble Eightfold Path into our daily lives in a meaningful way. The daylong will consist of Dharma investigations around our theme, sitting practices and walking on the beautiful grounds of the Mercy Center. This is Mountain Stream’s once yearly daylong in Auburn. Please join us.

Rick Maddock, MD, Neuroscientist at UC DAvis

Rick Maddock will be our guest speaker. His talks are often on the discoveries in neuroscience and how it relates to meditation practice and the teachings of the Dharma. We begin with a 40 minute silent sitting. We start promptly at 6pm, so please come a few minutes early—doors open at 5:45 or so. Rick will give a Dharma talk after the sitting.

Ven. Geshe Lobsang Tsultrim

Ven. Geshe Lobsang Tsultrim is a Tibetan Buddhist monk of the Gelug order. He is in our area thanks to Sierra Friends of Tibet. Geshe-la trained in philosophy and sacred art at Gaden Shartse Monastic University in Southern India and for many years toured the world as sand mandala master for the Sacred Arts of Tibet tours. He currently lives in Auburn, Calif.
