Mountain Stream invites you to join an Eco Dharma Art Workshop (Half Day)
Invisible Becomes Visible: Compassionate Practices through Sutta and Art to Reconnect to Self and Earth
Guides: Ameera Godwin & Lakshmi Prasad
Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Location: In Person Only, Mountain Stream Meditation, Nevada City Insight Center
710 Zion St, Nevada City, CA 95959
This workshop takes the Mahāparinibbāna Sutta —the Buddha's final journey and teachings — as its living thread, drawing us into contemplative encounter with one of Buddhism's most profound and tender texts.
We situate ourselves within this time of ecological and societal "polycrisis," turning to the Dhamma as teaching, refuge, and living expression of nature unfolding. The sutta becomes our map: through its landscapes of transition, letting go, and interdependence, we find language and practice for our own moment.
From this contemplation, we invite the invisible to become visible through process-based art, guided more by curiosity and quiet attention than technique, as forms emerge and dissolve, mirroring the sutta's own patterns of refuge, impermanence, and interconnection.
No prior art experience needed — only a willingness to notice, explore, and engage.
