Daylong Description: At the heart of the Dharma is a profound truth: awareness itself is not cold, distant, or mechanical. When we settle, breathe, and truly arrive, we discover that awareness is infused with an innate warmth—an ease, openness, and responsiveness that naturally expresses as kindness. This daylong retreat invites us to explore this awareness that loves: a quality of knowing that is spacious, tender, and unconstructed.
Through periods of silent meditation, gentle guidance, Dharma reflections, and discussion, we will explore:
The natural friendliness of mindful presence
The interweaving of awareness, compassion, and lovingkindness
How the heart’s innate responsiveness is obscured and how it becomes visible
Practices from early Buddhism, the Thai Forest tradition, and broader Mahayana teachings that reveal the warmth at the center of being
Allowing loving awareness to permeate everyday life, relationships, and difficulty
This retreat is designed for practitioners of all experience levels. Whether you are new to meditation or well-established in your practice, you are warmly welcome. Together, we will cultivate a gentle, grounded, and heartfelt space—one that supports inner clarity, emotional resilience, and a deeper trust in the goodness of our own minds.
Join us for a day of stillness, insight, and connection as we rest back into the simple truth: the heart knows how to love when we let it.
Dana: During the daylong, there is an opportunity to offer a financial donation to Adam as part of the Buddhist practice of dana (the practice of giving and receiving). All offerings are gratefully received and support the continuation of the Buddha’s teachings.
