Bio: Constance Washburn, MA, is a facilitator, educator and community organizer. She is currently co-director of the Spiral Journey- a Facilitator Development Program in the Work That Reconnects and is a founder and core member of the Weavers Team of the Work That Reconnects Network. She began studying with Joanna Macy in 1994. She started studying Zen in 1968, since 1984 has been part of the Vipassana community at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and is a community dharma leader in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition under the guidance of Lama Palden.
She is a founding member of the Elders Action Network and she developed and facilitates their Empowered Elder Workshop. She is a trainer of the Community Resilience Model of the Trauma Resources Institute.
She served as Education Director at the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) and Marin Organic for almost 20 years educating the public about the value of local food and farms. She has a MA in Education and Theater and taught and directed multi – cultural theater companies as her first career.
